King’s Stanley Church of England Primary School is a nurturing and inclusive village school that serves the local community through our core values of respect, responsibility, and resilience. Our school strives for academic excellence while recognizing the importance of holistic development, including a wide range of art, sport, drama, cooking, music, gardening, and enjoyment of learning.
Our school day starts with a ‘soft start’ from 8.45 – 9.00am. Children come into school and go straight to their classroom. The school day for both Infants and Juniors ends at 3.15pm.
We take pride in being recipients of the Gloucestershire Healthy Living and Learning Award and we maintain longstanding connections with Kavuka, a school in Kenya, fostering global awareness and cultural exchange.
While our school resides at the heart of the King’s Stanley village, we welcome students from neighbouring areas such as Stonehouse, located a mile away, and Stroud, situated three miles away. We support working parents with our Kingfishers Club which offers excellent before and after-school childcare services within our premises, staffed by dedicated individuals who are also part of our school community.
At King’s Stanley, we cater to students aged 4 to 11, organizing them into seven single-aged classes of 30 pupils. Currently, our student body consists of 213 children, and we often experience high demand for admissions.
We place a strong emphasis on each child reaching their full potential, regardless of their academic standing. We provide tailored support for high achievers, learners facing challenges, and those with special talents in various areas.
We actively involve our students in the decision-making process within the school. The School Parliament assumes a leading role in shaping our policies and practices. They were integral in our deciding our school’s 3Rs “Respect, Responsibility, Resilience”.
Our school community thrives due to the exceptional support from parents, families, and friends. We are fortunate to have dedicated and compassionate Governors, as well as a wonderful Parent-Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) who organise enjoyable fundraising events for all.
